About myself

I am a normal guy, I am a swell guy, I am a nice enough guy in his early to mid twenties. You can refer to me as pivnoy_chel or pivnya. Those are my nicknames that I made up in 2018, that have stuck. Pivnya is an affectionate diminutive of pivnoy_chel.

Music taste

I have listened to music all my life. My preferences were constantly changing, from EDM to Blackened Death Metal. Thought, I have always had a knack for hard-rock and metal since the early childhood.

Right now I mostly listen to Atmpospheric Black Metal, Shoegaze and Post-punk. I also really love atmospheric electronic music and ambient, like Aphex Twin and Brian Eno. I don’t mind listening to mainstream pop music, but after listening such songs for too long I get a headache. I also hate most of the rap music.

Here are some posters of my favourite albums. Hover over them to read the names.

Type O Negative - Dead Again
Mr. Bungle - California
Boris - Feedbacker
Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape
Acid Bath - When the Kite String Pops
Sadness - I Want to Be There

That’s not all, I also really love Symbolic by Death, and the OST for Gran Turismo by Daiki Kasho. The album Odbrana i poslednji dani by Idoli is also amazing.

Most of my life was spent playing videogames. This medium takes a lot of time, and can only be compared to books in time spent. I found them magical as a kid, and was always drawn to them from early childhood.

My first console was PS1. I think it was around that time that I developed a love for the horror genre, after playing such games as Echo Night and Silent Hill. Or after reading a ton of creepypastas and other spooky stories. I think after all the Echo Night was first. Although, at that time I preferred the Duke Nukem Time to Kill and Quake 2, as I was too afraid of horrors.

Currently I am playing a lot less videogames, but I still have an attraction to them.

Movies

I am not an avid movie watcher. I have a significant backlog of movies that I am very slowly clearing out. To be honest, I never paid enough attention to this medium. Usually I marathon movies in 12 hours sessions once in 6 months.

My idol is Takeshi Kitano. His works are something special for me.

Sonatine (1993)
Hana-bi (1997)
Kids Return (1996)

I will always recommend him, and I think everyone should get acquainted with his work.

One of my favourite movie genres is horror. I think that if someone hears that someone loves horror movies, it’s more likely to conjure up the image of a freak who gets off to loud screams and guro. It’s the genre’s problem, I don’t mind. It’s very easy to capitalise on an impressionable audience, but that’s precisely why good horror films stand out.
Although I’ve begun to notice that the love for the genre in this medium is waning… I still prefer horror in games!

Funny Games (1997)
Cure (1997)
House (1977)
